Description:OverviewApplications development and support for internal and customer facing systems used to support business and technical aspects of managed data center systems and services.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesApplication development focused on process automation and configuration integration for data center managed services. Integrate third party APIs with solutions written from scratch and commercial modules for internal and customer facing web applications. Web applications supporting cloud-based services allowing customers to order and configured system online. Some specific systems include:
• Virtualization – managed servers
• Server and hardware configuration DB
• Cloud server and storage platforms
• Server and hardware configuration DB
• Customer support ticketing system
• Web interface portal for customers to self-managed systems
• DNS & IP administration
• Email provisioning - Exchange/POP/IMAP/SPAM-VIRUS
• Online ordering & automated provisioning
This opportunity includes the following leadership responsibilities:
• Lead major development projects
• Review work of other developers, including formal code reviews
• Mentor and train other developers
Skill and Education Requirements
Required Skills• 5 years of LAMP programming experience, with at least 3 years in PHP
• 2+ years experience in database design and programming (MSSQL and/or MySQL)
• Demonstrated experience with JavaScript, XML, HTML/CSS, and OOP
• Experience integrating third party APIs
• Linux Apache and Windows IIS experience
• Strong communication skills and team collaboration skills
• Detail oriented with exceptional problem solving abilities
• Ability to work in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment
• 4 year college degree in computer science or demonstrated equivalent industry experience
Desired Skills• jQuery, jsLib, Ext, Ajax, Smarty, Zend Studio, MVC, RESTful APIs, Linux
• SQL query writing
• QA experience with automated testing tools
• Subversion/Version Control
• Experience with Agile/Lean software development methodologies
