DescriptionReviews, analyzes, and evaluates business systems and user needs. Documents requirements, defines scope and objectives, and formulates systems to parallel overall business strategies. Familiar with programming concepts, relational database concepts and client-server concepts. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
RESPONSIBILTIES: Work with internal customers to create technical specifications based on business requirements and system architecture
Develop project plans prioritizing tasks while considering business priorities, technical challenges, resources, and parallel projects
Work with development groups (local and offshore) to execute technical specs and inspect/review/test applications for completeness when ready
Perform tasks or work with DBA to:
* Develop and implement database schemas that balance business needs, optimal performance, and security. This includes knowledge of normalization, star & snowflake schema, index creation, field and table constraints, primary and foreign keys, user logins and roles, linked servers, data encryption, etc.
* Design and develop DTS & SSIS packages, T-SQL code, stored procedures, and basic scripting languages (Java & VB Script)
* Develop and implement ETL. Includes knowledge of utilizing tools available within SQL Server/T-SQL (temp tables, common table expressions (CTE’s), etc.) SSIS/DTS packages
* Consume and process various sources of data (database, flat files, XML, etc.) into business-ready information, and validate accuracy and consistency of the data and reports
* Create and maintain reporting environments that are developed around business needs and goals; this includes navigation, security, and accessibility
Perform tasks or work with developers to:
* Design/Develop program flows to meet system requirements
* Develop user documentation

TECHNOLOGY REQUIREMENTS: Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Visio, Project
MS SQL Server 2005/2008, DTS/SSIS packages and Stored Procedures
T-SQL programming
Ability to define SQL server standards and knowledge of SQL server best practices
Familiar with VB.NET, C#.NET, Visual Source Safe, XML and web services
Required Experience• 6-8 years of experience in field
• Four-year bachelor’s degree
