1723 - Oracle DBA - South Twin Cities Sub

POSITION SUMMARY:

Assist DBA Team Lead with all functions and tasks of the DBA group. This will include assisting with creation and maintenance of all databases for development, production, bug fixes and associated utility programs. Provide initial data load deployment to be utilized for testing, demonstration and product evaluation purposes as well as the process of providing initial data to clients. Assist with general database administration and performance tuning as required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Possess and grow fundamental database administration skill of Oracle and IBM DB2 RDBMS, related tools.
Update and maintain Oracle and DB2 databases supporting multiple development and implementation projects.
Implements solutions by using standard methods, automation, and tools.
Maintain client relationships and assist clients with database object and SQL query design.
General DBA activities including installing, sizing, implementing, maintaining, and tuning of Oracle and DB2 database servers.
Backup and recovery operations for both production and UAT database environments utilizing RMAN and Netapp Snapshot Manager.
Manage and deploy application database modifications.
Manage and apply Oracle patches.
Maintain and document, existing and new, processes and procedures.
Audit database maintenance activities..

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

SQL and PL/SQL programming.
Database and SQL performance tuning.
Knowledge of RAC, RMAN, ASM, DB2 9.5, Oracle 10G and 11G, Linux, Scripting.
Knowledge of database physical and logical design principals.
Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication (verbal and written), and interpersonal skills.
Strong problem solving and technical troubleshooting skills.
