This position is a hybrid position as compared to larger shops in the industry. It combines the role of data analyst, developer, consultant, troubleshooter, extract, transform and load (ETL). However depending on the domain (Application, Data, System, Security), level of expertise may vary.
• Define, analyze, and review ETL technical requirements.
• Understand the environment, development practice and standards adopted within the team and suggest changes wherever possible.
• Lead small development efforts and mentor junior team members whenever possible.
• Involve in code reviews, unit testing, peer reviews and partner with QA to document test criteria.
• Identify repeatable patterns of ETL code and make it reusable and efficient.
• Involve in data analysis and contribute to data design.
• Create low level ETL design and review with other project team members.
• Specifies and provides ownership of reusable application components or reusable application code.
• Follow policies set for governance, compliance, security, infra structure and change management.
• Practice and advocate data governance policies and standards as defined by the data architects, leads and management.
• Develop standards, process flows and tools that promote and facilitate the mapping of data sources, documenting interfaces and data movement across the enterprise.
• Provide application support for production applications and involve in on call rotation.
• Accurately track work time based on project and /or daily work activities according to IT department guidelines.
Qualifications • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field a plus
• 8+ years experience in software development with a majority of this experience building applications on extranets for eCommerce or enterprise portals with dynamic content on the .Net platform
Specific types of experience required:• Proficiency in SQL and Oracle PL/SQL is required. 2+ years preferred.
• Experience in healthcare environment 2+ years preferred.
• Informatica (2+ years) or other ETL (DataStage, Ab Initio, open source) experience (5+) years is required.
• Business Intelligence / Data Warehousing methodology is required (2+ years).
• Knowledge in SAS programming is a nice to have.
• Strong data analysis skills.
